One Killed and Another Injured in a Car Accident in Brooklyn
Late on Wednesday night, an out-of-control car crashed through an intersection at Avenue M and Ocean Avenue in Midwood, Brooklyn. The incident resulted in the death of a 76-year-old pedestrian identified as Milorad Rajacic from Old Westbury. According to reports, the vehicle driven by a 17-year-old driver hit Rajacic while he was crossing the street.
The impact of the collision caused severe injuries to Rajacic who was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center but unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival. Meanwhile, after hitting Rajacic, the car went off track and crashed into a light pole which fell onto the street before jumping over a curb and slamming into a park bench located on the median strip.
A 24-year-old man sitting on that bench sustained minor injuries due to this accident. He is currently being treated for his complaints of pain at Maimonides where he is said to be stable.
The teenage driver has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident since it's believed that they were driving at high speed when they lost control of their vehicle. The investigation into this tragic incident remains ongoing as authorities work towards uncovering more details about what led up to this fatal crash.
