Driver of BMW killed in two-vehicle crash on Chesterfield County highway

One Person Killed in a Two-Vehicle Collision on Chesterfield County Highway
On Saturday morning, a fatal accident occurred on Highway 102 near Brown Springs Church Road, just south of Patrick. According to South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), the crash happened around 9:12 a.m. and involved two vehicles - a BMW sedan and a Ford pickup truck.
The driver of the BMW was traveling north when it ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, ran off the left side of the road, and then swerved back onto the roadway. The car collided with an oncoming Ford pickup truck that struck it in its driver's side area.
Tragically, "the driver of the BMW died at the scene," while "the driver of Ford had to be taken to hospital." Officials have not yet released any information about who was driving the BMW or their identity.
SCHP is currently investigating this incident. More details will follow as they become available.
This marks another deadly collision in Chesterfield County after three cars crashed earlier last week resulting in one fatality. Stay tuned for more updates regarding this story.
