10-Year-Old Boy Drives Construction Equipment Through Pittsburgh Neighborhood, Causes Damage

A 10-year-old boy caused significant damage in Pittsburgh's Brookline neighborhood after driving a stolen piece of construction equipment through the streets, according to police. The incident occurred on Monday night when a 911 call reported that the child had taken a Bobcat from a construction site in Mt. Lebanon.
Police officers quickly responded to the scene and surrounded the Bobcat on Fordham Street. Multiple parked vehicles were hit, and a fence and stop sign were knocked down as a result of the reckless driving. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The child was apprehended by police and later released into the custody of his family approximately an hour later. Mt. Lebanon police confirmed that he was only 10 years old.
Video footage captured by doorbell cameras recorded images of the young boy operating the construction vehicle through Pittsburgh's streets, causing damage to several cars.
Authorities confirmed that the stolen construction equipment originated from a nearby site in Mt. Lebanon before it ended up wreaking havoc in Brookline.
While investigations are ongoing regarding this unusual incident involving such a young individual, neighbors expressed relief that no one was injured during this dangerous episode.
The Mt. Lebanon police department is treating this case seriously due to the age of the person involved. Further updates on the investigation are expected in due course.
