13-Year-Old Girl Injured in ATV Crash

A 13-year-old girl was seriously injured in an ATV crash on Saturday evening in Phelps County, Missouri. The accident occurred when the girl hit a pothole while driving the ATV on National Forest Service Road 1576, causing her to lose control and overturn. She was thrown from the vehicle during the incident which took place around 7:55 p.m.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report stated that she was taken to hospital by helicopter for treatment of her injuries. No further information has been released about her condition at this time.
Authorities have not yet commented on whether or not the girl was wearing protective gear at the time of the accident. It is also unclear if any other vehicles were involved in the incident.
