14-year-old Teen from Georgia Killed in ATV Crash in Cherokee County

A 14-year-old teenager from Georgia died in an ATV crash that occurred on Friday afternoon in Cherokee County, Alabama. The accident took place when the 2017 Mahindra ATV they were driving left the roadway, rode up a guy wire and overturned. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the teen was critically injured and ejected from the vehicle.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment where they later succumbed to their injuries. An eight-year-old passenger who was also not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The incident happened around 2:25 p.m. on Cherokee County 102 near Cherokee County 104, approximately two miles north of Cedar Bluff. ALEA troopers are still investigating further details about what led to this tragic accident.
