Carson Smith dies in single car crash in Berkshire

A 16-year-old boy from Berkshire, Vermont has died as a result of a single car crash that occurred early Sunday morning. The incident took place on Water Tower Road at approximately 4:45am.
Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered a white Toyota Tundra off the southbound shoulder of the roadway. The driver and sole occupant of the truck was identified as Carson Smith, also from Berkshire.
Investigation shows that Smith was driving north on Water Tower Road when he lost control of his vehicle and overturned several times. He was ejected from the truck and later pronounced dead by authorities.
Police have determined that Smith was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. The Vermont State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, along with members of both Berkshire Fire Department and Enosburgh Rescue responded to assist.
The crash is still under investigation by local authorities who are urging anyone with information about this incident or who may have had contact with Carson Smith prior to it taking place to come forward. Anyone with relevant information should call Police at 802-878-7111.
