17-Year-Old Student Killed in Car Crash in Richmond

The Richmond community is mourning the tragic loss of a 17-year-old student who was killed in a car crash on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred on Hull Street Road in Richmond's Southside, just before 3 p.m. The victim, who was driving at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene, while two passengers were taken to a nearby hospital.
Authorities have confirmed that the teenager attended Huguenot High School. Both Richmond Police and Richmond Public Schools expressed their condolences for the devastating loss. Jonathan Young, a member of the Richmond Public School Board, acknowledged how deeply affected the Huguenot High School community has been by this tragedy.
Despite severe weather conditions on Saturday, members of the community came together to set up a memorial for the student. Candles and flowers adorned this tribute where they held a vigil in honor of their fallen peer.
