19-Year-Old Woman Killed in Head-On Crash in Crown Point, Indiana

One fatality, two injured
A tragic head-on collision in Northwest Indiana claimed the life of a 19-year-old woman on Tuesday afternoon. The crash, which occurred around 4:30 p.m. in Crown Point, was reportedly caused by tailgating.
According to witnesses at the scene, a Subaru SUV was closely following a Jeep while traveling eastbound on East 117th Avenue. In an attempt to overtake the Jeep, the Subaru crossed over into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Kia that was driving westward.
Tragically, the driver of the Kia, identified as 19-year-old Grace Norris, did not survive the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers who were also in the vehicle, both aged 13 and from Lowell, were injured in the crash. One of them had to be airlifted to a hospital in Chicago for treatment while the other was transported by ambulance.
The driver of the Subaru is reported to be a 44-year-old woman from Crown Point. At this time, no further information has been released regarding her identity or any potential charges she may face.
Local authorities are currently investigating this devastating incident and working to determine all factors that contributed to it.
