2-Year-Old Dies After Being Hit By Pickup Truck In Odenton

An Odenton 2-year-old died on Monday after being accidentally hit by a family member moving a pickup truck. The Anne Arundel County Police Department called it a "tragic accident." According to investigators, the driver was repositioning the vehicle and did not realize that the child had stepped off the porch and in front of the truck. The boy was struck by the pickup and later pronounced dead at an area hospital. The police have not released any names yet but confirmed that both parties were related.
"It appears to be an absolute tragic accident," said Lt. Jacklyn Davis with the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. on North Patuxent Road in Odenton, Maryland. Authorities are investigating this case under their Traffic Safety Section.
This is not the first time such an unfortunate event has taken place in Anne Arundel County recently.
Police also classified that incident as accidental, but no names were released then either.
