5-Year-Old Boy Fatally Struck by Van in Las Vegas

A tragic incident occurred on Friday morning when a 5-year-old boy was struck by a van while being dropped off at school in North Las Vegas. The North Las Vegas Police Department responded to the scene on Losee Road after receiving reports of the accident.

According to authorities, the young boy had exited the rear driver's side door of a vehicle that had been waiting with other vehicles waiting to drop off students. At that moment, the driver of a work van pulled out from behind the stopped vehicles and accidentally hit the child.

The driver of the van remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with law enforcement during their investigation. Police have stated that there is no suspicion of impairment regarding the van's driver.

Tragically, despite immediate medical attention, it was reported that the child succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at UMC Trauma Center. The Clark County Coroner's office will release further information regarding his identity as well as details about his cause and manner of death.
