55-Year-Old Man Killed in Auto-Pedestrian Accident in Edinburg, Texas

Edinburg, Texas - A tragic accident occurred on Monday morning when a 55-year-old man was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer rig. The incident took place at the intersection of W. Cano Street and 10th Avenue in Edinburg.
According to the police, at approximately 8:36 a.m., officers received a call about an auto-pedestrian accident. It was reported that the driver of the truck was traveling south while Troy Walter Hack of Edinburg was crossing the street. Unfortunately, Hack was hit by the large vehicle.
The driver of the truck immediately stopped to provide assistance to Hack. Police have stated that there is no evidence suggesting alcohol played a role in this tragic crash.
"At this time, it remains unclear whether the pedestrian was within a designated crosswalk," said an official statement from Edinburg PD regarding the incident.
Hack was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment but sadly succumbed to his injuries just one hour later.
The case is currently under investigation as authorities work diligently to gather all necessary information surrounding this heartbreaking event. In light of this tragedy, law enforcement officials are urging pedestrians and drivers alike to exercise caution and remain vigilant when crossing roadways.
