7-Year-Old Girl Struck by Pickup Truck in St. George

The girl suffered significant injuries and was airlifted to Las Vegas for further care.
A 7-year-old girl was struck by a pickup truck in St. George on Sunday night, according to the St. George Police Department. The incident occurred at around 8 p.m. near the area of 900 S Morningside Dr.
Upon receiving the report of a traffic accident with injuries, officers quickly responded to the scene. It was determined that the young girl had kicked a soccer ball into the road and then ran out to retrieve it when she was hit by a northbound pickup truck.
Fortunately, the driver of the truck remained at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities during their investigation. Meanwhile, emergency medical services were called and promptly transported the injured child to St. George Regional Hospital for treatment.
Medical professionals discovered that she had sustained significant injuries as a result of being struck by the vehicle. Due to her condition, she was subsequently airlifted from St. George Regional Hospital to Las Vegas for further specialized care.
In response to this tragic incident, Sgt Sam Despain from SGPD expressed his condolences: "SGPD sends our thoughts and prayers to all involved," he said in an official statement.
