7-year-old Josmar González dies after being hit by car in Belvidere

Josmar González did not survive the incident.
An investigation is underway after a 7-year-old boy was hit by a car in Belvidere, Illinois. According to reports, the incident occurred on June 2nd in the 1700 block of 14th Avenue. The victim has been identified as Josmar González who was chasing a ball into the street when he was hit.
Upon arriving at the scene, Belvidere police found Josmar lying unconscious but breathing in the street. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but he did not survive.
The driver involved in this tragic incident remains unknown as no information has been released about them yet.
Belvidere Police Chief Shane Woody confirmed that no charges have been filed yet and they are still investigating the case before determining if any criminal offense took place.
Josmar González attended Washington Elementary School located in Belvidere and his loss has left an impact on everyone who knew him.
