70-Year-Old Man from Bloomingdale Killed in Head-On Crash in Suburban Geneva

The motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
A 70-year-old man from Bloomingdale was killed in a head-on collision with a pickup truck on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred at around 1:48 p.m. on Illinois Route 38 near Crissey Avenue in suburban Geneva. According to the police, the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound when a Chevrolet Silverado heading westbound veered into oncoming traffic and struck him.
The victim, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was taken to an area hospital but pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Meanwhile, the driver of the Silverado, along with his three passengers, were evaluated on scene and found uninjured.
Geneva police are awaiting results from their investigation before proceeding further but anticipate charges will be filed against the 24-year-old driver of the Silverado. A portion of Route 38 remained closed while authorities worked to investigate what caused this tragic incident.
The identity of the deceased has not been released yet as family members have yet to be notified by Kane County Coroner's Office officials.
