71-Year-Old Ithaca Man Killed in Crash Involving Semi

A tragic accident in Gratiot County has claimed the life of a 71-year-old man from Ithaca. The incident occurred on July 20 around 2:20 p.m., when Michael Doran's pickup truck collided with a tractor-trailer on Luce Road near Sanctuary Drive in Arcada Township.
According to the Gratiot County Sheriff's Office, it is believed that Doran crossed the center line before crashing into the semi. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 57-year-old man from Mt. Pleasant, fortunately escaped without any injuries.
Investigators are currently looking into whether Doran may have experienced a medical event prior to the collision. Further details regarding his health condition or any potential factors contributing to this devastating accident have not been disclosed at this time.
