5 injured in 8-car crash in Fort Walton Beach

According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, a crash involving eight cars left one person seriously injured and multiple others with minor injuries. The incident occurred in Fort Walton Beach on Friday, just before 4:15 p.m.
Troopers reported that a pickup truck with a trailer was driving south on Eglin Parkway, approaching the intersection of Yacht Club Drive when it crashed into the rear of a sedan. The impact caused a chain reaction, hitting a total of eight cars, including a truck parked in the Whataburger parking lot next to the road where the crash occurred.
The authorities said that one of the drivers was seriously injured, and four other people suffered minor injuries. The entire roadway was blocked off as authorities cleared the scene. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
The identities of the victims have not been released, and it is unclear if any charges will be filed.
