Tragic Crash in St. Johns County Claims Life of 8-Year-Old Girl

Several injuries and one fatality
An 8-year-old girl from Kannapolis, North Carolina tragically lost her life in a devastating crash that occurred in St. Johns County on Thursday night, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident also left several others injured.
According to the report, a female passenger of unknown age sustained serious injuries, along with a 36-year-old man. Additionally, a 3-year-old girl and a 6-month-old baby who were both inside the car suffered minor injuries. All of them were occupants of a Lexus GX460 involved in the collision with a semi-truck.
The Florida Highway Patrol stated that at the time of the accident, the Lexus was traveling north in the center lane of I-95 near Mile Marker 326. A semi-truck hauling a trailer had come to a stop in this same lane due to traffic congestion, with another vehicle positioned behind it.
Tragically, the driver of the Lexus failed to notice these stationary vehicles and attempted to swerve left but ultimately lost control. This caused their vehicle to spin towards the center lane where it collided with the left rear portion of the trailer attached to the semi-truck.
As a result of this horrific crash, authorities closed down an extensive stretch of road between I-95 at International Golf Parkway and SR-210 for several hours on Thursday night.
This heartbreaking incident serves as yet another reminder for drivers to remain vigilant and attentive while on our roads.
