83-Year-Old Man Killed in Crash with Semi-Truck

An elderly man from Manton, Michigan tragically lost his life on Friday in a collision with a semi-truck. The 83-year-old driver failed to yield to the oncoming truck, resulting in the fatal accident. According to UpNorthLive, a passenger in the vehicle, aged 78, was also injured while the driver of the semi-truck from South Carolina sustained minor injuries.
The incident occurred at around 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of North U.S. 131 and Old U.S. 131 in Wexford County. The elderly man pulled into the path of the southbound semi-truck and was ejected from his vehicle upon impact. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
It has been reported that the victim was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. To respect their privacy during this difficult time, authorities have chosen not to release any names until family members have been notified.
Due to this tragic event, investigators had to close off a five-mile stretch of U.S. 131 for several hours as they processed and examined every detail of the scene.
