Accident on Interstate 35 in Lathrop: Terry M. Delauder Injured

Delauder sustained serious injuries
An accident occurred on Interstate 35, five miles south of Lathrop, early Sunday morning at 2:05 a.m. that involved a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado and a parked 2019 Kenworth Tractor Truck.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Chevrolet Silverado driven by Terry M. Delauder, 33, of Galt was traveling northbound in the driving lane of Interstate 35 when it veered off the east side of the roadway. The Silverado collided with the towed unit of the parked Kenworth Tractor Truck operated by Ronnie L. Mettlach, 53, of Edinburg, Texas.
The impact caused both vehicles to burst into flames. The fire completely burned both the Chevrolet Silverado and the towed unit of the Kenworth Tractor Truck.
Delauder sustained serious injuries in the accident and was transported by Holt Fire to Liberty Hospital. It is unknown whether Delauder was wearing a seat belt at the time of crash.
Fortunately, despite damage to its towed unit from fire exposure, Mettlach was able to drive away from scene using his undamaged cab. However, Scotty's Towing had to be called in to remove and tow away the damaged towed unit.
The investigation into this crash was conducted by Corporal V.R.E McBride from Missouri State Highway Patrol who received assistance from Trooper J.M Tanner,Sergeant A.A Henry,Trooper K.J Cool ,Corporal A.M Beckwith,the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department,Lathrop Police Department,Missouri Department Of Transportation (MoDOT),and Holt Fire department.
