Fire Crews Clear Scene After Amazon Truck Catches Fire on Phoenix Freeway
Firefighters rushed to the westbound lanes of the I-10 near the ministack in Phoenix on Saturday night after an Amazon truck caught fire. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. and the front of the truck was engulfed in flames when crews arrived. They worked quickly to put out the fire.
According to the Department of Public Safety, no injuries were reported. However, the Arizona Department of Transportation reported that all lanes were blocked, but traffic was proceeding on the left shoulder. Delays were expected and there was no estimated time of reopening.
An update later revealed that all lanes were still blocked, but traffic was proceeding on the left shoulder. Motorists were advised to expect delays and seek an alternate route.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Fire crews are working to clear the scene.
