Beloved Sprinter Mario Heslop Dies in Tragic Car Accident

Cynthia Mclean, the mother of Franklin High School graduate and star sprinter Mario Heslop, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover her son's funeral expenses. Heslop tragically lost his life in a car accident on Monday, June 19.
According to Daily Voice, Heslop was driving a 2013 Infiniti Q50S eastbound on Hamilton Street in Franklin Township when he crossed the centerline and collided with a westbound vehicle. The impact proved fatal for both drivers involved.
Heslop, who hailed from New Brunswick, had an impressive track record as an athlete. In 2018, he set the NJ State record for the 300-meter dash during his junior year at Franklin High School.
Before moving to Somerset County in 2013, Heslop lived in Jamaica where he also pursued track and field. His passion for running was evident throughout his life as he competed even after college in various national track and field competitions.
The GoFundMe campaign organized by Colleen Bowen on behalf of Cynthia Mclean has already raised over $8,200 towards covering Heslop's memorial expenses. Friends and loved ones have also shared their condolences through heartfelt messages.
