20-year-old male bicyclist in critical condition after collision with pick-up truck in San Luis Obispo

bicyclist in critical condition, driver of pick-up truck cooperated with police, drugs and alcohol not suspected
San Luis Obispo Police have confirmed that a 20-year-old male bicyclist is in critical condition following a vehicle vs. bicyclist crash on Friday. The collision occurred at the intersection of Fredericks St. and Grand Ave. The driver of the pick-up truck involved in the crash remained on the scene and cooperated with police. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be involved.
San Luis Obispo City fire officials and police officers responded to the scene at around 4:33 p.m. on Friday. As of 7 p.m., crews were still investigating the crash. Law enforcement is asking people to avoid the area as traffic may be impacted.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation and the condition of the bicyclist is unknown at this time. The bicyclist was taken to Sierra Vista and is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit.
