Bicyclist in Critical Condition After Being Hit by Semi in Kenosha County
The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department reported that a 53-year-old woman from Grayslake, Illinois, is in critical condition after being hit by a semi-truck on Thursday, April 20. The incident occurred on CTH K in the village of Bristol.
According to initial reports, a 1998 Kenworth semi-truck was traveling eastbound on CTH K when the bicyclist, who was also traveling eastbound in front of the semi, suddenly made a left turn into the semi's path. The collision resulted in the bicyclist being hit and sustaining serious injuries.
The victim was taken to a local hospital before being flown to a Milwaukee hospital via Flight for Life. The semi driver was issued a citation for "operating a commercial vehicle without a license."
Due to the severity of the crash, the Kenosha County Major Crash Assistance Team responded to the scene to assist in the accident investigation.
