Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Crash Involving Truck/Trailer in Bridgehampton

The bicyclist was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and no criminality is suspected.
A bicyclist in Bridgehampton, New York was seriously injured on Monday afternoon after colliding with a truck and trailer, according to Southampton Town police. The incident occurred at around 12:19 p.m. at the intersection of Ocean Road and Bridge Lane.
Police reported that the adult female bicyclist lost control of her bicycle, veered into the northbound lane, and collided with the truck. As a result of the crash, she sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, the driver of the truck remained at the scene following the accident. Police have stated that there is no suspicion of criminal activity on their part.
In response to this incident, authorities closed down the roadway for an extended period while they conducted investigations. Additional support was provided by New York State Police accident reconstruction and motor carrier units.
