Police Investigate Fatal Bicycle Accident in Miami
Miami Police officials are investigating a fatal accident involving a garbage truck and a bicyclist that occurred on Wednesday morning. According to reports, the incident took place at around 8:00 am in the 800 block of Flagler Street.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the body of the victim covered by a police tarp next to their bicycle. Footage from the area showed a garbage truck near where the accident happened.
While no further details have been released about what caused this crash, drivers were advised to avoid this area as investigations continue.
In an update posted on Twitter later that day, Miami PD clarified that it was indeed a bicyclist who was involved in this tragic incident and not a pedestrian. As part of their investigation efforts, NW 1 St. to SW 1 St. on 8 Ave has also been closed off.
