Two people rescued, one still missing

Two individuals have been rescued while a third remains missing after a boat capsized on Thursday night in the Manasquan Inlet at the Jersey Shore. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., with first responders managing to recover two people so far. However, efforts are still underway to locate the missing individual.

According to a spokesperson for the Coast Guard, surveillance footage captured what appears to be a powerful wave causing the vessel to overturn. Eyewitnesses reported that the two men who were rescued clung onto a cooler as they made their way towards safety. Both individuals were subsequently transported to an area hospital for medical evaluation.

The situation has been further complicated by Hurricane Lee, which is expected to bring increasingly hazardous conditions along beaches throughout the weekend. Waves measuring between 8 and 10 feet high have already been observed and are predicted to worsen due to this approaching storm system.

In light of these circumstances, U.S. Coast Guard crews are urging members of the public to exercise patience and provide rescue teams with sufficient time and space necessary for their operations.
