A Boston police officer was injured on Wednesday afternoon while attempting to stop a vehicle that had started rolling after being involved in a collision near a busy intersection in the Allston neighborhood of the city. According to the Boston Police Department, they received a report of an injured officer at 223 Cambridge St., which is the listed address for Boston Liquors.
Video footage reveals that a red car had crashed into the sign of the Shell gas station at 219 Cambridge St., located across from Boston Liquors on North Harvard Street. The red car had been in a minor accident with a black sedan on North Harvard Street.
As the driver of the black sedan moved their vehicle forward, the red car began rolling towards the intersection of North Harvard and Cambridge streets. A vigilant Boston police officer present at the scene noticed this and attempted to stop the moving car.
Unfortunately, despite his efforts, the vehicle crashed into the Shell sign. The impact threw the officer, causing him to bump his head.
Emergency services promptly transported him to a nearby hospital where he received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
