Connecticut State Police reported that a box truck crashed on Route 2 in East Hartford on Tuesday morning after fleeing the scene of a burglary. The incident is currently under investigation.
The crash was reported by the state Department of Transportation around 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, with police activity and road closures in effect on Route 2 between exits 5A and 4. The right and center lanes of the roadway remain closed.
According to state police, troopers were responding to reports of a box truck evading the scene of a burglary. They attempted to stop the truck, but it continued before crashing on Route 2.
Minor injuries were reported in the crash, but no further details have been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as they become available.
