Box Truck Driver Killed in Head-On Crash with Semi

The driver of the box truck died, and his passenger was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The semi's driver was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
A tragic head-on collision in Long Grove, Illinois has claimed the life of a box truck driver. According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred on Tuesday morning along Route 53, just north of Lake Cook Road.
The sheriff's office reported that a man was operating a 2021 Isuzu box truck and traveling northbound on Route 53 when, for reasons yet to be determined, he veered into the southbound lanes directly into the path of a 2016 Freightliner semi. The semi was hauling a loaded trailer at the time of impact.
Regrettably, the driver of the box truck did not survive the crash. His passenger was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Additionally, emergency services transported the semi's driver to another nearby hospital with serious injuries.
In response to this devastating incident, authorities have launched an investigation into its cause. The Lake County Sheriff's Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit will be leading these efforts.
