A tragic boating accident at Manning Lake in Gilmanton, New Hampshire has claimed the life of a young Boy Scout. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon when first responders received a distress call reporting that a young child had been injured while on a boat.
According to the New Hampshire Department of Safety, the boy was part of a group of campers attending the Boy Scouts camp and sustained fatal injuries. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. No further details about the accident have been released at this time.
The victim has been identified as 11-year-old Keoni Hubbard from Lexington, Massachusetts. In an official statement by the Boy Scouts of America Daniel Webster Council in New Hampshire, they expressed their deep sorrow over his passing and extended their condolences to Keoni's family during this difficult time.
"Our hearts are forever broken by the loss of our Keoni," said family members in a statement released on Sunday afternoon. They described him as beloved by his loved ones and friends, highlighting his selflessness and empathy for others. Keoni would have celebrated his 12th birthday later this month.
