Bus carrying Lake City High School football players and coach involved in crash

A bus transporting Lake City High School football players and their coach back from a football camp was involved in a collision with a semi-truck, resulting in injuries to the driver, student-athletes, and coach.
The incident occurred in Orangeburg County as the mini-bus was returning from South Carolina State University's football camp. According to Florence School District Three (FSD3), the bus was traveling north on U.S. 301 while the truck was driving west on Bonner Avenue when they collided.
All passengers aboard the school bus, including the driver, sustained injuries during the crash. However, no harm befell the truck driver involved. The coach was immediately transported to a hospital located in Columbia for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
Four student-athletes who were also on board were taken to nearby hospitals for minor injuries. FSD3 officials revealed that one of these students is 17 years old while three others are aged 16. Among them were two students from Lake City High School and two others attending J. Paul Truluck Creative Arts and Science Magnet School within the district.
At present, it remains unclear who is at fault for this accident or if any charges will be filed related to it. The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) has initiated an investigation into this matter.
