Two People Injured in Greenville Car Accident

Two people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. At least 284 homes and businesses were without power.
A car accident in Greenville, North Carolina caused major disruptions for evening commuters and local businesses on Monday night. The incident occurred at around 6 pm on Memorial Drive when a single vehicle collided with a tree and power pole before flipping over.
Thankfully, the two individuals involved in the crash were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. However, the impact of the collision resulted in significant damage to both the tree and power pole, causing widespread power outages across the area.
Greenville Utilities confirmed that at least 284 homes and businesses were affected by the outage due to the downed power pole. As a result, traffic lights from Greenville Blvd south to beyond Firetower Rd were also impacted.
Emergency crews worked tirelessly throughout the evening to remove the overturned vehicle from Memorial Drive while GUC crews focused their efforts on restoring power as quickly as possible.
