Car Accident Causes Power Outage in Natchez Trail Neighborhood

Power outage affecting 930 customers, 500 customers restored by 9:30 a.m., remaining 400 customers to be restored by 1:30 p.m.

Alabama Power has announced that a car accident caused a power outage in the Natchez Trail neighborhood on Cottage Hill Road, Mobile. The incident occurred at around 7:25 am on Sunday morning when a vehicle hit a power line. According to Alabama Power, initially only 14 customers were affected by the outage but due to safety reasons, some equipment had to be de-energized resulting in an additional 930 customers losing their power supply.

However, as of now, about 500 customers have had their power restored while approximately 400 are still without electricity. Alabama Power is working towards restoring the remaining customer's service by 1:30 pm today.

The driver that caused the crash is reported to have not been injured in the incident.
