Woman's Seizure Causes Car to Crash into Non-Profit Building in Greenwood

The driver was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries. The building will be closed for the remainder of the week.
A non-profit organization in Greenwood, Indiana that serves Hoosiers aged 50 and above has been forced to close temporarily after a car accident damaged part of their building. According to the Greenwood Police Department, the incident occurred on Sunday evening when a woman driving near "The Social of Greenwood" had a seizure while behind the wheel. The vehicle then veered off Polk Street and collided with the east side of the building.
The driver was taken to hospital for minor injuries but is expected to recover fully. Meanwhile, officials from The Social of Greenwood have announced that they will be closing down their facility for at least one week as they assess structural damages caused by the accident. They are also asking members of the community to avoid visiting or accessing areas on the east side until further notice.
Despite this setback, some services offered by The Social of Greenwood will continue as planned. For instance, their food pantry will remain open on Thursday between 10 am and noon while Purse Bingo tickets will still be sold on Saturday June 3rd.
