At approximately 11:44 A.M. this morning, a car accident involving a semi-truck was reported in Beckley, West Virginia. The incident occurred when the semi-truck crashed into the escape ramp at mile marker 137 on I-64 eastbound.
Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene of the accident. The Beaver Fire Department, Ghent Fire Department, Coal City Fire Department, Jan Care EMS, and West Virginia State Police all arrived to provide assistance and ensure public safety.
As a result of the crash, the lane at the bottom escape ramp on I-64 Eastbound has been closed for traffic. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes until further notice.
Fortunately, no fatalities or injuries have been reported thus far. However, authorities continue their investigation into the cause of this incident.
