Fatal Car Accident in New Hartford: Diane Schafer Killed

According to the authorities from the New Hartford Police Department, the incident took place around 2:30 p.m. on Seneca Turnpike near the intersection with Woods Highway. Schafer was driving west when her vehicle collided with another car driven by Judson Chandler, a 64-year-old resident of Vernon Center.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Chandler was attempting to make a U-turn at the time of impact. As a result of the collision, Schafer sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance for medical treatment.
Despite efforts made by medical professionals, Schafer tragically succumbed to her injuries later that evening and passed away.
