Person Injured in Car Accident on Loop 20 in Laredo

No life-threatening injuries
A car accident on Loop 20 in Laredo, Texas caused significant traffic congestion for commuters on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred near Spur 400, and by 6 p.m., traffic was nearly at a standstill along Bob Bullock Loop. The backup extended all the way to the entrance of Lake Casa Blanca.
Initial reports from the Laredo Police Department indicated that a person had been hit by a vehicle close to Clark Boulevard. Videos sent into the newsroom suggested that it happened near the on-ramp for the exit onto the loop. However, police later clarified that the accident was actually caused by a blown-out tire on a Chevy Silverado truck, which forced it to come to a stop. Unfortunately, this resulted in a rear-end collision with a Chevy Astro van.
Thankfully, there were no life-threatening injuries reported as a result of this accident. However, one person did sustain injuries after reportedly being struck by another vehicle during Tuesday afternoon's incident.
The crash has led to heavy traffic congestion along Loop 20 in Laredo. Drivers traveling southbound are advised either to avoid the area or anticipate delays until further notice.
As of now, there is no information available regarding the condition of the victim involved in this unfortunate accident.
