Car Accident in Ware Sends Woman to Baystate Medical Center

The woman faces non-life-threatening injuries.
A car accident on Friday afternoon resulted in a 77-year-old woman being airlifted to Baystate Medical Center. The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. when the Ware police and fire department received a call regarding a single-vehicle crash on West Street near Ware High School.
According to Sergeant Chris DeSantis of the Ware Police Department, the driver lost control of her vehicle and collided with a tree. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The woman was trapped inside her car following the collision and had to be extricated by emergency responders from the Ware Fire Department. Once freed, she was immediately transported via Life Flight helicopter to Baystate Medical Hospital located in Springfield.
Fortunately, Sergeant DeSantis confirmed that the woman's injuries are not life-threatening. However, no further details about her condition have been released at this time.
