Car Catches Fire on I-39/90 in Madison, Wisconsin

The fire has been extinguished.
The Wisconsin State Patrol reported that a car caught fire on the side of the highway along I-39/90 on Sunday. Viewers who witnessed the incident sent in pictures capturing the intensity of the blaze. The vehicle was located near Hwy V when it suddenly burst into flames and continued to burn for approximately thirty minutes.
Fortunately, there were no passengers inside the car at the time of the incident, and as a result, no injuries were reported. Authorities from the Wisconsin State Patrol have not yet determined what caused the fire but confirmed that it has since been extinguished.
The occurrence led to temporary lane closures spanning about a mile around where the car had caught fire. However, all lanes affected by this incident have now been reopened to traffic.
