Car collides with 18-wheeler in Beckley

Conditions of those involved in the accident remains unknown at this time.
According to a report by WVNS, a car and an 18-wheeler collided near the Harper Road exit in Beckley on Sunday afternoon. The accident caused traffic to back up on I-77 Northbound to the I-77/I-64 split.
Police who were present at the scene reported that a BMW with a driver and passenger inside came careening down an embankment before colliding with the truck. All three individuals involved in the crash were transported to local hospitals for medical attention.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene of the accident including West Virginia State Police, Beckley Police Department, West Virginia Parkways Authority, Turnpike Communications, JanCare ambulances, Bradley EMS and Bradley Fire Department.
The cause of this collision is still unknown but Patrolman Parker from Beckley Police is leading investigations into this case. A crash reconstruction will be performed as part of these investigations.
At present time there are no updates available regarding their conditions.
