Car Crashes into Chick-Fil-A in North Decatur

A car crashed into a Chick-Fil-A in North Decatur on Tuesday afternoon, causing significant damage to the restaurant. The incident occurred on August 29, 2023.
According to witnesses, the car appeared to jump a railing and narrowly missed hitting the building. In a video posted on social media, the vehicle can be seen hanging from a stairwell near the drive-thru area. DeKalb County police stated that they did not believe the driver had actually struck the restaurant.
Afterwards, a woman was seen exiting the vehicle from the driver's side with assistance. It is unclear at this time whether anyone was injured or if any hospitalizations were necessary as a result of the crash.
Damage included bent railings and shattered glass. Despite this damage, Chick-Fil-A continued serving customers through its drive-thru.
The cause of this accident remains unknown at present. Authorities are investigating what led up to this crash and will provide further details as they become available.
