The house was left uninhabitable, but no one was injured.

Residents of a Kettering home will have to find somewhere else to sleep tonight after a car crashed into their house Tuesday afternoon. According to a spokesperson for Kettering Fire Department, around 6:20 p.m. Kettering police and fire were called to reports of a car into a building in the 2000 block of Woodman Drive.

Video shows the car crashed into the front of the home with heavy damage. The house was occupied when the crash happened and was left “uninhabitable”, the spokesperson said. The residents found somewhere else to stay.

Ron Waker owns the home and rents it out. He said the four tenants of the home called him after the crash. Waker said he was told the car was traveling northbound on Woodman and failed to navigate the slight curve in the road. “The car went through 2 bedrooms and a living room,” Waker said. “Seeing that car in the house, it was definitely a sight to see,” he added.

A restoration crew helped clean up the debris from the crash and board it up so it is secure for the night, Waker said. Police are still investigating what led to the crash but it is believed distracted driving could have played a part, the spokesperson said.
