One person killed, another in critical condition
One person has tragically lost their life and another is in critical condition after being struck by a car in Sylmar on Thursday evening. The incident occurred near the intersection of Astoria Street and Foothill Boulevard, where one individual was pushing another across the street in a wheelchair at approximately 7:55 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The person who was pushing the wheelchair sadly succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while the other victim was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where they are currently listed as being in critical condition.
Authorities have confirmed that this incident is not classified as a hit-and-run, and no arrests have been made thus far. The investigation into what led up to this tragic collision is ongoing.
