On November 14, 2023, a car-hauler semitruck caught fire on I-294 near LaGrange, resulting in lane closures during rush hour. According to Illinois State Police, the fire completely engulfed the vehicle and caused solid traffic congestion stretching back to 95th Street. The incident involved a crash between two commercial vehicles but fortunately no injuries were reported at this time.
