Moderate injuries to the driver, minor injuries to the train operator

A car and a Metro A Line train collided this morning in Pasadena, resulting in injuries for both the motorist and the train operator. The incident occurred at around 9:18 a.m. at the intersection of S Raymond Ave. and E. California Blvd.

Emergency rescue crews swiftly responded to the scene to assist a woman who was trapped inside her vehicle following the crash. The impact of the collision caused significant damage, with the Toyota Camry being pushed onto the sidewalk and a broken gate arm also ending up on the pavement.

Pasadena police and fire officials promptly checked on all passengers aboard the train, confirming that no one on board had been injured during the accident.

The driver of the car was transported to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries while an investigation into what led to this collision took place. As part of this investigation, both tracks in the area were temporarily closed off by authorities, necessitating buses to transport passengers to nearby stations.

According to a spokesperson from Metro, trains began running through that section again around noon; however, they were forced to share a single track in both directions due to ongoing investigations. This resulted in approximately 20-minute delays for commuters traveling through that area.

By 2:30 p.m., normal train service was restored as crews completed their work at the crash site and both tracks became fully operational once more.

This incident serves as another reminder for motorists and pedestrians alike about exercising caution when navigating intersections near railway crossings.
