Car Crash in Niles Leaves Home Damaged

A person has been hospitalized after a car crashed into a home in Niles on Wednesday morning. The incident took place at the intersection of Normal and Greenwood, according to Niles Fire Department District Chief Orlando Diaz.
Upon receiving the emergency call, firefighters rushed to the scene where they discovered a vehicle that had collided with a house. The impact of the crash caused damage to the gas meter, resulting in an open flow of natural gas through the meter.
The injured individual was promptly transported to an area hospital; however, their current condition remains unknown at this time.
As authorities work diligently to resolve the situation safely, crews are currently awaiting clearance before attempting to remove the car from its lodged position within the home.
