The driver of the cement truck was reportedly uninjured.
A cement truck went off the road and into a ditch on Blackberry Hill Road in Berwick, Maine on Wednesday morning. The Berwick police department responded to the incident at around 9:23 a.m. According to an initial investigation, the Northeast Redi-Mix truck was loaded with concrete when it veered off the right side of the road and into a ditch.
The accident caused Blackberry Hill Road to be closed for several hours while crews worked to remove the truck from its position. However, as of 4:30 p.m., "the road has since reopened," according to a Facebook post by the Berwick Police Department.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with this crash. Drivers are being advised to use caution when traveling near Hussey School due to "the lack of dirt shoulder where the crash occurred," said police.
This is not an isolated incident; accidents involving large trucks happen frequently across America's roads every day. It is important for drivers everywhere always to remain vigilant and cautious while driving on public roads and highways.
