CHP Officer Injured in Crash on 15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore

CHP officer taken to hospital with serious injuries
A California Highway Patrol officer was seriously injured in a crash on the 15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon around 1:55 p.m., on the southbound side of the freeway, just south of Nichols Road.
The officer, who was riding a CHP motorcycle at the time, crashed and sustained major injuries. Although no other vehicles were involved, the cause of the crash is still under investigation by CHP officials.
As part of their investigation, authorities closed down the 15 Freeway near the crash site. The closure lasted several hours while they gathered evidence and assessed the scene.
The injured officer was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current condition has not been disclosed at this time.
