Church Bus Crash Injures 19 in Anderson County

In a tragic incident on Sunday evening, a church bus carrying nineteen individuals was involved in a head-on collision with a suspected drunk driver in Anderson County, South Carolina. The accident occurred on Old Williamston Road near Amberwood Drive at approximately 7:30 p.m.
According to troopers, the crash transpired when a car veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the church bus. Responding to the scene swiftly, Anderson County deputies arranged for two helicopters to transport the injured victims to nearby hospitals.
The Labor of Field church in Anderson County owned the bus that was involved in the accident. All nineteen men aboard sustained injuries, with four of them being classified as critical conditions. The victims were promptly taken to hospitals located in both Anderson and Greenville for immediate medical attention.
Highway Patrol has charged Cristoball Ajqui, the driver of the car responsible for causing this devastating collision, with three counts of felony DUI involving great bodily injury.
