Westbound reopened, eastbound remains blocked
Westbound US 2 has reopened after a collision involving two dump trucks fully blocked the roadway for hours near Gold Bar on Monday. The incident occurred at around 2 p.m., and as of now, eastbound remains blocked. Traffic is currently alternating through the area as crews work to completely clear the scene.
According to an update from WSDOT Traffic, "WB US 2 is now open, EB is still blocked. Traffic will begin alternating through the area. Crews are still working at the scene so drive with caution on the road. Expect delays in the area."
The collision caused significant disruption to traffic flow, resulting in long delays for drivers in both directions. Motorists are advised to exercise patience and allow extra time for their journeys until normal conditions are restored.
